A Romantic Catholic Wedding at St. Paul Catholic Church & Reception at Abbey Road Farm in Oregon
There is something incredibly special about a wedding day that feels deeply rooted in tradition while still feeling completely personal to the couple.
This beautiful Oregon wedding began with a Catholic wedding ceremony at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in St. Paul, Oregon, before continuing into wine country for a romantic celebration at Abbey Road Farm in Carlton. I had the honor of capturing the entire day through both wedding photography and videography, documenting not only the big moments but all of the in-between ones that made the day uniquely theirs.
A Catholic Wedding at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church
The day began at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, a historic church in the small town of St. Paul, Oregon.
The church itself brought such a beautiful sense of history and tradition to the beginning of the day. The current brick church dates back to 1846 and is recognized as an important historic landmark in Oregon, making it an especially meaningful setting for a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony.
There is something about photographing a Catholic wedding ceremony that I absolutely love. The slower pace, the sacredness of the ceremony, the family traditions, and the little moments happening quietly throughout the church all tell an important part of the couple's story.
And then, of course, came the moment everyone was waiting for — seeing these two officially become husband and wife.
From St. Paul to Oregon Wine Country
After the ceremony, we headed toward Carlton, Oregon, and the scenery began to change.
Abbey Road Farm sits in the heart of Oregon wine country on an expansive working farm and vineyard, surrounded by rolling hills, gardens, and open countryside. The property offers a beautiful mix of rustic character and romantic Oregon scenery, making it such a fun place to photograph a wedding.
The transition from a traditional Catholic church ceremony to a relaxed farm celebration made the day feel like two beautiful chapters of the same story.
And once we arrived at Abbey Road Farm, it was time to celebrate.
A Romantic Abbey Road Farm Wedding Reception
There are so many reasons Abbey Road Farm is such a beautiful Oregon wedding venue.
Between the vineyards, gardens, open fields, farm details, and rustic event spaces, there are endless opportunities for photographs throughout the property. The venue also offers both indoor and outdoor spaces and can accommodate weddings of up to 200 guests.
For this wedding, the reception atmosphere was warm, joyful, and full of personality.
After spending the beginning of the day focused on the ceremony and family, the reception gave everyone the chance to relax, enjoy dinner, celebrate the newlyweds, and let loose on the dance floor.
These are some of my favorite parts of a wedding day to photograph because the images become less about perfectly posed portraits and more about what it actually felt like to be there.
Golden Hour at Abbey Road Farm
One of the best things about an Abbey Road Farm wedding is having so much beautiful Oregon scenery surrounding you.
The vineyard and rolling countryside create an incredible backdrop as the sun begins to drop, and golden hour gave us the perfect opportunity to step away from the reception for a few minutes and create some portraits of the newlyweds.
These weren't about spending an hour away from the party.
They were about taking a breath.
Being together.
Taking in the fact that they had just gotten married.
And creating a few photographs and pieces of their wedding film that captured that feeling.
Because while the details and beautiful portraits matter, my favorite wedding photographs are usually the ones where you can feel something.
Photographing AND Filming Their Wedding Day
One of the things that made this wedding especially meaningful for me was being able to capture it through both photography and videography.
Photos allow you to freeze a moment in time, but wedding films bring back the movement, voices, music, laughter, and emotion of the day.
For a Catholic wedding especially, there are so many moments that deserve to be remembered beyond a still image — the sounds of the ceremony, the vows, the music, the reactions of family members, and the little pieces of the day that couples may not even realize they're going to miss.
Being able to create both photographs and a wedding film means couples don't have to choose between the two.
They get to remember what their wedding day looked like and what it felt like.
Planning an Oregon Wedding?
I'm Brooke, the photographer and filmmaker behind B Sweet Imagery, serving couples throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.
I photograph and film weddings with a documentary-meets-editorial approach — giving you beautiful, intentional portraits while still leaving room for the real moments to unfold naturally.
Whether your wedding day begins in a historic Oregon Catholic church, continues through the vineyards of Carlton, or takes place somewhere completely different, I'm here to capture the moments you'll want to remember long after the flowers have dried and the dance floor has been packed away.
Your wedding deserves to be remembered as more than how it looked. It deserves to be remembered for how it felt.
